Well, I did it. I bit the bullet, so to speak.
Entering into this blogging world, I have been perusing other blogs on a daily basis, looking for things I like, things I want to try, and things to inspire me (as well as lots of questions answered!).
One thing that really stood out to me is the whole concept of branding and creating a logo and title that is easily recognizable in multiple facets. I was introduced to a website, Fiverr, which enables bloggers, vloggers, and other social media personalities to pay for some of those extra services needed to elevate a blog to the next level.
For me, graphic design is where I needed assistance. I knew I liked my font, but my tagline needed work, and I wanted an image that would work help readers understand what my blog was really about.
But that’s what was so challenging. If it were strictly a travel blog, then there are any number of images that could be used. If it were just a homesteading blog, again, another slew of images.
But how to marry them? And make them make sense?
That’s why I called in the experts.
My sister gave me some great insight, suggesting the use of a compass, which I loved right away.
After about 4 days of back and forth, my new logo was formed, complete with the title.
The compass represents our wandering. The desire to always be looking and finding something new.
The tree represents our roots. Our homestead. Our home we have built.
Together, they make up Wanderstead Wife, and I am so pleased.
